| SALSA – Beginning Level Learn this hot, #1 most popular nightclub dance from expert instructors. The popularity of this dance stems from its easy but quick basic step patterns along with the pulsating rhythm of the music. The combination is dynamite! The name “Salsa” is derived from the Spanish word for that spicy “hot sauce”, which describes both the mood of the music and the steps that you’ll learn in class. Salsa is a mixture of various elements of rumba, mambo, cha cha, and other Latin dance forms. But it looks sexier and more flashy, and characteristically dancers can add little embellishments and kicks to it. |
SALSA – Intermediate Level Learn the coolest moves to the hottest dance! Take your dancing to the next level. Learn tricks & tips to improve your role as either a leader or follower. Each week you will learn new moves you can try on the dance floor, as well as creative ways to combine them and mix them up. Increase your salsa steps so you and your partner are never bored. The goal of this intermediate-level class is for you to be able to dance with ANYONE, and for you and your partner to look amazing on the dance floor. Taught by Janice & Ron. |

SWING - JITTERBUG |
SWING - WEST COAST West Coast Swing popularity is soaring in the country and is especially popular in California. It is danced primarily to medium tempo Rhythm & Blues style music, but it can also be danced to music that includes Country, Soul, Rock, Funk, Beach, and Big Band. Dancers move linearly along a line or “slot”, and there is a LOT of freedom to improvise and add style in this dance. Tempos are slower than Jitterbug-Swing, generally 82 - 130 BPM. The steps and movements are slow and sexy, and many love this dance with a passion. |
COUNTRY LINE DANCING Come learn the latest in country line dancing. This fun, upbeat style of dance is found all over the world & to most styles of music. Men, women and all ages welcome. No experience or partner necessary. Join our friendly, energetic instructor for a fun and upbeat class. |
WALTZ - BALLROOM DANCING Come learn elegant, ballroom style Waltz and work your romantic side, gliding around the room like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Learn skills for any formal dance or wedding. In this class, students start at a beginning level, but by weeks 5 & 6, they usually are ready for intermediate-level steps, and improve their form, leading, and following skills. |
FOXTROT - BALLROOM DANCE Foxtrot is often associated with the style of Fred Astaire, and is similar to Waltz in that it travels around the dance floor and shares some steps between both dances. Foxtrot is smooth and flowing, and is a very versatile ballroom dance socially, as it can be danced to a vaiety of musical styles with varying tempos. The basic beginner rhythm will be taught (Slow-Slow-Quick-Quick), as well as the intermediate pattern (Slow-Quick-Quick-Slow). |
RUMBA - ROMANTIC LATIN-STYLE DANCE Dancers consider rumba to be one of the most romantic and sensual of all the Latin dances. The music is slow, sensual and romantic. Many of the steps are similar to the Cha-Cha, but performed in a different rhythm and style with romantic, flirtatious overtones. Both American style & International style Rumba will be taught. |
QUICKSTEP - BALLROOM DANCE The name says it all. Dancers appear light on their feet as they move quickly around the floor in time to upbeat ballroom dance music. Quickstep was influenced by the Foxtrot and Charleston, but should be smooth and glamourous. The tempo is lively, and you need to be, too! You'll learn to control body posture, improve leading/following techniques and stamina, as you gracefully whisk around the room. Some dance experience is expected to take this class, as we will teach this class at an intermediate level. |
